If you’re looking to build a sales funnel, a well designed and properly executed one has four main stages:

• Awareness
• Interest
• Decision
• Action

And a funnel helps a business to convert their leads into paying customers.

A sales funnel can be small – just consisting of a squeeze page and a thank you page…

…or it can be large.

We’ve all seen the large ones in action whenever we buy an internet marketing product.

You have the front-page – the squeeze page to capture your visitor’s email address…

…then a series of pages that offer upsells and downsells…

…until you finally reach the page that gives you access to what you’ve bought.

You’ll also have been added to an email list so you’ll get ongoing emails from the merchant.

Build a Value Funnel

There’s a variation of this known as the Value Funnel.

This is where, instead of subjecting your visitor to an immediate barrage of offers, you offer value to them over the next 4 to 5 days.

This is done through email marketing after they sign up at your squeeze page.

The value in this funnel can be something like a series of training lessons.

Your email sequence links to one of these training pages, one at a time, over successive days.

You don’t pitch the product you’re promoting directly.

But you might talk about why what you’re promoting will make things easier for your visitor in the long run.

It’s only when your training series is finished that you hit them with the actual sales pitch and page.

But whichever strategy you want to follow, here’s how to go about building successful sales funnels:

Sales Funnel Software

If you want to build a sales funnel, then you’re going to need some sales funnel software.

There are two ways to go:

1. Use a WordPress plugin to add sales funnel pages to your blog
2. Use a Software as a Service solution – this means subscribing to a web-based or cloud-based tool that can build and host your pages and funnels for you.
